PureMindAbiding.com

My conclusion is that you already have more than enough good material. The main need now is simplification, consolidation, and a very clear visitor journey.

My recommended final main menu – I recommend these 7 primary tabs:

HOME | START HERE | ABIDING | PRACTICE | HEALING | RESOURCES | ABOUT

I believe this is stronger for PureMindAbiding.com than making Cards a main tab. Cards should initially live under Resources. If you eventually build a large collection of cards, we can promote Cards to the main menu later.

  1. HOME

Home should have NO dropdown.

Your current Home menu contains working items such as “Layout (ideas),” “4-Abidings (ideas),” “Noting (ideas),” and “Phrasing (ideas).” Those should all come out of the public navigation.

The Home page itself is already doing the correct job: introducing Pure Mind, Abiding, the central practice, and pathways deeper into the site.

Final:

HOME – Nothing underneath it.

  1. START HERE

This should be the visitor’s orientation centre.

I would organize it:

START HERE

  • What Is Pure Mind Abiding?
  • What Is Pure Mind?
  • What Does Abiding Mean?
  • How to Begin
  • One-Minute Practice
  • The Deeper Meaning

Your existing Start Here page is already a good beginning, explaining Calm Abiding, Pure Mind Abiding and a first practice.

Important distinction

Start Here = understanding.

It answers: What is this? – Is it for me? – Where do I begin? – Then visitors move naturally into Practice.

  1. ABIDING

I now believe Abiding deserves its own main menu tab.

It is half of your site’s name and one of the most distinctive parts of your teaching.

ABIDING

  • What Is Abiding?
  • Pure Mind Abiding
  • Calm Abiding
  • Abiding With
  • Abiding In
  • The Four Abidings
  • Abiding Phrases

Later you can add pages such as:

  • Abiding Around
  • Abiding Holding
  • Abiding and Equanimity
  • Abiding and Non-Attachment
  • Abiding in Everyday Life

You already have excellent material distinguishing Abiding, Abiding With, and Abiding In. That content is sufficiently foundational to become a coherent Abiding section rather than being scattered through Practice and miscellaneous pages.

This section can eventually become one of your strongest Google topic clusters.

  1. PRACTICE

Practice should answer:

“What can I actually do right now?”

PRACTICE

  • Practice Hub
  • Coming Home to the Breath
  • Gentle Noting
  • Noting Is Enough
  • Abiding Phrases
  • Recognize · Embrace · Bless
  • Blessing
  • Daily Practice

I would remove technical and unfinished titles such as:

  • Breathing & Blood (code)
  • Breathing & Blood (text)
  • BLESSING update
  • RESEARCH & PRACTICE GUIDE

from the dropdown in their current form. They make sense to you as working titles, but they do not communicate clearly to a new visitor. Those items are presently exposed in the Practice menu.

If “Breathing & Blood” contains valuable teaching, combine the code/text versions into one finished public page with an ordinary visitor-friendly title.

  1. HEALING

Your Healing structure is already one of the strongest sections.

The live page clearly presents a gentle progression through Fear, Anxiety, Overwhelm, Self-Talk, Emotional Pain, Shame, Grief and Anger.

I would organize it:

HEALING

  • Healing Hub
  • Fear
  • Anxiety
  • Overwhelm
  • Emotional Pain
  • Grief
  • Anger
  • Shame
  • Self-Talk

Eventually add:

  • Relationships
  • Difficult Memories
  • Body & Somatic Abiding
  • Self-Acceptance
  • Self-Love
  • Loss & Change

One change

I don’t think “Deeper Support” needs to appear as a dropdown heading.

It adds another decision.

Let people see:

Fear · Anxiety · Grief · Anger · Shame

directly.

  1. RESOURCES

This is where I would put the different formats of your teachings.

RESOURCES

  • Practice Cards
  • Printable Guides
  • Guided Practices
  • Audio Library
  • Articles & Research
  • Four Noble Truths
  • Spirituality & Prayer
  • Questions & Answers

This is also where I would relocate Cards.

Why?

Because:

Practice and Healing describe what visitors want to do.

Cards, PDFs, audio, and articles describe the format in which they receive it.

That is why Resources is their natural home.

  1. ABOUT

Keep this very simple.

ABOUT

  • About Pure Mind Abiding
  • About Ross
  • The Story Behind the Practice
  • Safety & Scope

Your current About page already contains valuable material about the origins of the practice, your mindfulness training, the movement from trying to fix experience toward abiding, and why the website exists.

I would retain that.

What I would REMOVE from the public menu now

This is the most important immediate cleanup.

Remove these from the navigation — not necessarily delete the pages:

  • New
  • GOD
  • MENU (use)
  • Layout (ideas)
  • Noting (ideas)
  • Phrasing (ideas)
  • 4-Abidings (ideas)
  • Breathing & Blood (code)
  • Breathing & Blood (text)
  • BLESSING update
  • duplicate Research & Practice Guide links
  • numbered private reports
  • unfinished experimental pages

The current menu exposes many of these.

“New” especially should disappear

The /new-pages/ page contains development material, page drafts, HTML markers, Yoast instructions, SEO keyphrases and other working notes intermixed with finished teaching. That is useful behind the scenes, but it should not be part of the visitor experience.

What to do with GOD

I would not discard the material.

I would remove GOD as a main menu tab.

Instead create:

Resources → Spirituality & Prayer

Under it:

  • Christian Abiding
  • Jesus and Abiding
  • Prayer
  • Buddhist Wisdom
  • Contemplative Practice
  • Spiritual Meaning of Pure Mind Abiding

This supports the inclusive description you already have on the Home page, where the site respectfully draws from Buddhist mindfulness, Christian contemplation, lived experience and compassionate self-understanding.

It also prevents a visitor from mistakenly assuming the entire website is exclusively Christian before they understand Pure Mind Abiding.

What about “Phrasing”?

This deserves special attention.

I believe Abiding Phrases should become one of the important teachings of PureMindAbiding.com.

But I would not call the menu item simply “Phrasing.”

A new visitor may not understand what that means.

Use:

Abiding Phrases

or perhaps:

Warm & Wise Phrases

Within it you can eventually organize:

  • Pure Mind . And . Fear
  • Pure Mind Abiding . And . Fear
  • Jesus . And . Fear
  • Love . And . Grief
  • There Is…
  • Yes…
  • And…
  • Abiding With
  • Blessing Phrases
  • Equanimity Phrases

This could become an exceptionally distinctive part of the website.

The complete menu tree I recommend

  • How to Begin
  • One-Minute Practice
  • Deeper Meaning

ABOUT

  • About Pure Mind Abiding
  • About Ross
  • The Story Behind the Practice
  • Safety & Scope

One more important recommendation: create a hidden working area

You clearly use the website to develop ideas as well as publish finished material.

That is perfectly workable — but separate the two.

Create a private WordPress parent page such as:

PMA WORKING PAGES — PRIVATE

Put underneath it:

  • Layout Ideas
  • Menu Use
  • New Pages
  • Code Versions
  • Research Drafts
  • Phrasing Ideas
  • Experimental Practices
  • Personal Reports

None of these should appear in the primary menu.

Where appropriate, make them Draft, Private, password protected, or noindex.

This is particularly important because at least one page explicitly labelled “private” is currently accessible publicly enough to appear through web search.

The visitor journey

This is the part I like most about the proposed organization.

A person arrives at:

HOME

START HERE
What is this?

ABIDING
What does this central teaching mean?

PRACTICE
How do I experience it?

HEALING
How can I use it with fear, anxiety, grief or anger?

RESOURCES
Give me a card, audio, printable or deeper article.

ABOUT
Who created this and why?

That is an unusually natural path.

My strongest recommendation

The central architecture of PureMindAbiding.com should now be:

Understand → Abide → Practice → Apply → Deepen

And the seven menu tabs expressing that are:

HOME · START HERE · ABIDING · PRACTICE · HEALING · RESOURCES · ABOUT

I would make this the stable foundational menu and stop adding temporary top-level tabs as new material is created. New teachings should be placed inside one of these seven permanent homes.

Your site has reached the point where less menu is going to make more of your teaching visible.
